Coach Shardae has over 15 plus years in club volleyball, as both a coach and athlete. During her career she participated as a scholarship collegiate athlete playing an-around outside hitter where she earned All-Conference, All-American selection and offensive player of the year. A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science with a minor in Biology.

TO GIVE LESS THAN YOUR BEST IS TO SACRIFICE THE GIFT
I firmly believe that. I want to instill in all of my athletes, being a part of a team is more than the desire to win. It’s about holding yourself accountable, pushing your teammates to get better, and trusting each other during the process. A love for the game and respect for teammates can make any group of young women reach goals on and off the court.

Alicia Nava has coached club volleyball for 10 plus years and has extensive coaching experience as a high school head coach. During her career as a collegiate student-athlete coach, Nava participated as a scholarship athlete at both Lee College and Houston Baptist University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Psychology with a minor in Education. As an all-around utility player, Coach Nava spent different portions of her career successfully playing setter and defensive specialist positions. Coach Nava is currently the Head Coach for the UHD Women’s Volleyball Team since Spring 2008.

Shelby is a competitive and passionate coach. She has brought an energetic and fun balance to all her teams. Her bright character is reflected in her players’ passion for the game. Playing during high school, college and coaching in Austin for three years, Shelby has continued to show her love for the game and earn victories.
